During the first wave of coronavirus, all GP Practices had to rapidly review the way in which they see and treat their patients in order to maintain the safety of patients and staff. Due to social distancing guidelines, patients are increasingly choosing to access services via the telephone and online.
eConsult is the local online consultation system of choice and has been commissioned for all GP Practices across West Hampshire. However, our Practice is not open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so eConsults submitted outside of our opening hours are not reviewed or actioned until we re-open the next working day. Subsequently this creates a backlog of requests which can impact on the availability of patient appointments.
eConsult remains available to all our patients via our website Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 18:30. Outside of these hours, patients should contact NHS111 with any urgent medical concerns, or 999 in an emergency. We will keep this new arrangement under review.
Patients are still encouraged to use our online services, and remain able to submit electronic booking for blood test appointments and prescriptions using the NHS app or Patient Access. You can set up a Patient Access account at any time by going to www.patientaccess.com selecting ‘Register’ and filling in the requested details. You can link your account to the practice by collecting your unique registration letter from the Surgery and entering the details into your account.
